Mahogany is typically our most popular body wood, but is also used for necks on
most
of our Regenberg Set-Neck guitars. It is very stable and has a wonderful
warm tone. Usually weighs more than Alder, less than Maple.

Alder is the kind of body wood to get if you want a tonewood that is light in weight
and in color. It has been widely used on guitars and basses for over 50 years.
Hard Maple

Maple is a very strong and hard wood. Transparent finishes are the most vibrant on
maple due to its light color and grain. Maple has a bright and crisp tone and is used

for necks, fingerboards, and tops. Maple is heavier than Alder and Mahogany.
Flame Maple

Maple that displays Curly figure. Offered as a top as an aesthetic enhancement to
any guitar or bass. Theres no tonal difference to plain Maple.
Quilted Maple

Maple that displays Quilted figure. Possibly the most 3 dimensional of all kinds
of figured maple, it is expensive but worth it. Used as a top option on most guitars and basses.
Spalted Maple

Formed by rotting maple trees, this wood is definately the most dramatic looking
type of maple. The pictures speak for themselves. Only offered in high gloss finishes, and more delicate than plain maple.
Birdseye Maple

Maple that displays birdseye figure. Offered as an aestehetic option on all High
Performance guitars and bass necks. Same tone as any maple neck, can also be
used as a top, but not as common as other top woods.
Korina

A rarely used classic tone wood, yellowish color with an even grain pattern.
Similar in tone to Mahogany though a little heavier. Offered as a neck & body
wood on Regenberg guitars and body wood for High Performance instruments.
Walnut

Domestic hardwood with a chocolate brown color. Slightly heavier than
Mahogany with a bright tone. Offered as a bass body and as a top wood.
Pau Ferro

Also known as Bolivian Rosewood, Pau Ferro is a dense and extremely
stable wood. Our most popular fingerboard and is an option on all guitar
and bass models. Varies in color from light to dark brown with black
streaks. Standard on High Performance and Regenberg Performers,
Option on Regengerg Set-Necks.
Ebony

Ebony is an extremely dense wood and is characterized by its black color and
uniform grain. Ebony is offered as a fingerboard option on most guitar models
and is the fingerboard wood of choice on most classical instruments. Not
avialable on Performers and Basses. Standard on Regenberg Set-Necks,
Option on High Performance fingerboards.
Coco Bolo

Coco Bolo is a Rosewood grown in Mexico and South America. It is heavier
than Pau Ferro but has a great tone and beautiful Red, Black, and Brown
streaks. We offer this wood as a top or as a fingerboard.
