This guitar uses the Original Floyd. This is the most expensive and best version of the Floyd's. There are several models of Floyd's varying in price and quality. The original is made from the highest grade of steel. It is considered the best sounding of the versions and definitely wears better.

Most likely you want the Floyd because you intend on using and abusing the tremolo. To hold up to this abuse the neck needs to have a strong, solid joint to the body so it will not shift and be strong enough to hold its tune. The High Performance neck does this. Plus, the reduced heel size gives you better upper fret access. The improved neck mating increases neck and body resonance and the conical radius fingerboard improves the ease and comfort of play with cleaner string bends and a consistent lower action. The oil neck gives you a "wood" feel that remains fast and won't become sticky under heat or friction.
