his twenty-plus year career, Sean O'Bryan Smith has established himself
as one of the most sought after bass players in the music industry.
know for his ablility to cover multiple genres, Sean may show up recording
or performing virtually anywhere and his experience shows it. From jazz
to country and everything in between, some of the artists that have
relied on Sean's abilities include country music super star Billy
Ray Cyrus, jazz vocalist Anna Wilson, legendary blues vocalist
Tracy Nelson, contemporary Christian superstar Rebecca St.
James, country music chart toppers Buddy Jewell, Jimmy Wayne,
Rodney Atkins, Robin English, Christina Tabuchi Stoff, and pop singer/songwriter
Nissi.
In addition, Sean has
collaborated with some of the industry's top musicians and producers
including guitar icon Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Steely Dan,
Doobie Brothers), Monty Powell (Keith Urban, Rascall Flatts),
Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Sarah McLachlan), Jeff Franzel
(Frank Sinatra, Les Brown), Teddy Adreadis (Carole King, Guns
'n' Roses), and many, many more. Sean has utilized his diversity over
the years in numerous ways including producing, composing, consulting
for manufacturers, as well as teaching, numerous recording sessions,
and now taking on the roll as a solo artist. The latter stems from signing
a solo jazz deal with Black Rose Records to release his first solo CD
"Tapestry" scheduled to be released in November 2006.
"Tapestry" showcases Sean's prowess on fretted, fretless,
upright, and multi-string basses as well as featuring a collection of
his favorite sidemen he has worked with over the years.
