Scott
Verville
is a multi-talented, well-rounded musician. He is currently performing
with the Navy Band in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He's in charge of running
the rock band which he performs on guitar, sings, and composes for a variety
of performances and off-the-island tours. He also performs as a trumpet
instrumentalist in a number of different ensembles.
Scott
holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Central
Florida and a Masters Degree in Jazz Composition and Arranging from the
University of South Florida. While putting himself through school, Scott
performed in many different rock and top 40 bands in the Orlando area
where he honed his skills as a guitarist, singer and composer. He also
performed at Disney World and Sea World theme parks as a trumpet instrumentalist
to help make ends meet.
After
finishing grad school, he worked with the Army Band for 4 years as a musician.
His duties included guitarist and lead vocalist of the rock band, solo
and lead trumpet in the jazz bands, and staff arranger. After his tour
with the Army, Scott immediately joined on with the Navy music program
where he's been performing ever since. Scott really enjoys being a military
musician; he literally is getting to perform music in all parts of the
globe.
Scott
has performed for President Clinton, President Bush and many other high-ranking
government officials from around the world. He has also performed with,
or opened for: Blood Sweat and Tears, Lee Greenwood, Rob McConnel, Marcus
Printup, Barry Greene, Peter Erskine, Jamey Aebersold, and many others
Today,
along with performing in the Navy Band on a daily basis, Scott also loves
to write and record a lot of his own music. In his job he plays such a
variety of music that it influences him to compose in a variety of different
