What
is a MapleCore Neck? Whats the advantage?
If you're familiar with U.S. Masters at all,
you've probably seen "MapleCore" or "MapleCore
neck" displayed somewhere on their site. You might have asked
yourself, "What is a MapleCore neck?" We can answer
that for you. First off, you'll only see and hear about "MapleCore"
when in reference to set-neck style guitars. We developed the
MapleCore neck as a way to bring attributes of a maple neck to
a set-neck neck. Typical set-necks are made mostly of Mahogany,
except for fingerboards and tops, and maintain a uniform look.
The MapleCore neck is the best way to get the feel and strength
of a Maple neck while maintaining the consist look of Mahogany.
The majority of the neck is maple, with a thin "skin"
of mahogany for the look. The maple extends from the back of the
neck joint, all the way up through the headstock. You can be certain
that the headstock will never snap or break off, which may happen
with a pure mahogany set-neck. The core of the neck is literally
Maple, quite a bit of the core to correct. See the cross section
