This
model takes the LeGrand Legend to a higher, beautified level with premium
grade tops such as flame maple. The alder body is chambered for weight
control. The neck is upgraded to birdseye maple and stunning finishes
result in a very striking guitar. This is USA custom shop quality at
its finest with features that make this a silky playing gem worthy of
the finest studios and stages.
The
LeGrand Custom Legend has a choice of bridges.
The U.S. Masters Pro Fixed bridge
with stainless steel saddles.
The non-locking, stay in tune, super smooth, Point
Classic floating tremolo. The Original German made Floyd
Rose locking tremolo.
This guitar gives you a big, highly defined sound. The USM pickups have
high end sparkle and chime with added mid and lows. SSS and HSS versions
are available and the "Punch Control" is standard. The punch
control takes the place of what would be the second tone control. When
you are in the 5-way position of the neck or neck+middle the punch control
(as you turn it to zero) adds the bridge pickup. This gives you added
selections of a) neck+bridge and b)neck+middle+bridge. DiMarzio pickups
are also an option. The SSS set is the Area 67 for neck and middle,
Area 61 for the bridge. Modernized for no-hum these are big sounding
singles with fullness and a fine reputation. The HSS set is our DiMarzio
Scorpion H
with the Area 67 for the neck and middle.
What
brings this guitar into the "boutique quality" level are the
features of a patented small heel for better upper fret access which
is coupled with a neck "pocketing" that does not allow the
neck to shift and is compressed into the body for improved sound transfer.
This makes the guitar more alive and resonant with a stable neck and
increase fret access. The body is very nicely contoured and very comfortable.
The fingerboard is a conical radius shape. A conical radius fingerboard
is more expensive to manufacture, but results in the ability for lower,
more consistent action with the ease of playability. The neck is finished
with a special natural oil that keeps the "wood" feel of the
neck and stays fast under heat and friction. The neck feels broken in
from the start. The neck features our patented truss rod for smooth
adjustment and is instantly and easily accessible.
Very
high quality gloss finishes add to the beauty of these guitars and each
guitar is carefully crafted with precision and attention to detail.
