Morelli - An
old soul of music.
As a guitarist,
bass player, and drummer, Morelli has been creating music his entire life.
A third-generation professional musician who learned from his father and
grandfather.
One of Morelli's first memories is when he was five years old and his
dad would bring him into local establishments to sing and play the blues
on an adult-size guitar. His godfather Howie Blauvelt, played bass and
sang with Billy Joel and the Hassels, and also with Ram Jam ("Black
Betty"). Morelli has taken these formative influences and become
an international performer, studio musician, songwriter, producer, and
engineer.
Morelli has appeared such artists and/or members of: Roberta Flack, K'Naan,
Jay Z, Kanye West, NERD, Common, Musiq Soulchild, Incubus, Chubb Rock,
Q-Tip, John Legend, Suicidal Tendencies, T.M Stevens, P-Diddy, Keysha
Cole, Tye Tribett, Ginuwine, Mary J Blige, Roots, Steve Vai, Joe Cocker,
Bilal, Vivian Green, Kindred, Jaguar, Floetry, JazzyfatNastees, and Jill
Scott.
Morelli has been most recently touring (with K'Naan) and performing in
front of tens of thousands around the world. Within his travels he had
the distinct pleasure of playing on Jimmy Kimmel, and for the King of
Morocco. Morelli was the music director for Ivy Chanel (the sister of
DJ Cash Money), a London-based artist. The band Brass Heaven, one of many
projects Morelli is involved with, is half way through recording their
first release, which includes guest appearances by Gerald Veasley, Kindred,
Floetry, Musiq, Darrius Rucker, and Lupe Fiasco. They have performed at
Radio City Music Hall in New York, with the Roots, Mos Def, Erykah Badu,
and Jay Z.
Morelli has written three songs that are featured on Nokia's Web site,
as well as a song placed on The Golf Channel's Project Haney, Featuring
Charles Barkley. He has also had the great pleasure of recently recording
for Michael Jackson and Roberta Flack. Morelli just finished collaborating
on tracks with Kindred, Cee-Lo, TV on the Radio, Cujo(Goodie Mob), Charles
Barkley(ESPN), and the TV show Adult Swim. He can currently be seen on
VH1's Soul City, performing with Kindred.
