The EP43/53 features a solid mahogany or alder body (which tends to be a touch lighter than the mahogany) with the addition of a flame maple top or other exotic wood. The patented neck joint takes the hard maple of a neck thru out of the sound equation and allows the body of the bass to develop the sound instead of hard maple; this gives a smooth, well balanced tone. The neck joint is extremely solid, allowing for excellent transfer of sound from neck to body resulting in a good sustain with smooth pitch as the string decays. (Especially noticable on our low B string) The 43/53 is an upgraded version of the EP series, but has the same sound characteristics of the other versions. Optional wiring is available, from passive to studio active.
