Our Standard Electronics employ the passive
Multi-Voice Tone Circuit with our custom-designed Dual Soapbar humbucking
pickup set to achieve a more diverse range of tones than you can
achieve with conventional tone controls. The Multi-Voice Tone Circuit
is an advanced tone control with 2 mini-toggles that operate somewhat
like a parametric EQ. The EQ type switch selects either a notch
filter (cuts mid-range) or a low pass filter (rolls off high frequencies
with a slight boost of mid frequencies). The EQ Frequency switch
slects wheter the EQ type affects higher or lower frequencies. The
EQ Depth knob (like a conventional tone control) controls how much
effect the coicing circuit will have. The 3rd mini-toggle is a single
coil tap for both pickups. The other conrols are master volume and
pickup blend.

The Live Active Electronics package combines our custom-designed
soapbar pickups with EMG's BTC and BMC circuits, providing a 3-band
active EQ. It features dual concentric bass and treble controls
with an internally selectable high frequency EQ piont, a dual concentric
mid control with variable mid frequency and mid cut/boost, an active/passive
bypass, master volume and pickup blend.
1. Dual-concentric bass and
treble controls with center detent: ring is bass, center knob is
treble. Treble frequency is selectable inside the control cavity.
2. Dual-concentric midrange:
ring is frequency, center knob is cut/boost with center detent.
3. Pickup mix with center detent
- mixes pickups in series for a greater diversity of tone.
4. Master volume
5. Active/Passive Bypass micro-mini

Our Studio Active Electronics package is for the ultimate in versatility,
this combines our passive Multi-Voice Tone Circuitry with our Live
Active Electronics package. In addition, two 3-position mini-toggles
provide series/parallel/single coil switching to achieve 3 unique
voicings for each soapbar pickup. You can operate completely in
active mode and passive circuitry or combine both passive and active
circuitry.
1. Dual-concentric bass and
treble controls with center detent: ring is bass, center knob is
treble. Treble frequency is selectable inside the control cavity.
2. Active/Passive Bypass micro-mini
switch
3. Dual-concentric midrange:
ring is frequency, center knob is cut/boost with center detent.
4. Pickup mix with center detent
- mixes pickups in series for a greater diversity of tone.
5. Master volume
6. Frequency Selector for the
SD Voicing circuitry.
7. Filter Curve Selector for
the SD Voicing circuitry. Down it's a notch filter, pulling out
midrange depending on the frequency selector and pickup combination
and mode settings. Up it's a high-frequency roll-off filter with
an emphasis in the upper midrange, again dependent upon pickup selection,
frequency selector and pickup mode settings.
8. Bridge pickup voicing mode
selector 3 position switch: down is series humbucking mode (the
standard way most pickups are wired), middle position is single
coil, up is parallel humbucking mode.
9. Neck pickup voicing mode
selector - operates the same as switch 8 above.

U.S. Masters M Series basses combine functions of U.S. Masters
proprietary MultiVoice Passive Voicing (MVP) circuit with a 3 band
EMG active equalizer and U.S. Masters custom-designed dual
soapbar pickup set, made for U.S. Masters by Kent Armstrong. It
is designed so you can quickly and positively make use of an extremely
wide and diverse range of world-class bass voicings. The bass may
be run passive or active: pickups direct out with only the coil
tap and blend control influencing the sound (MVP bypassed), it may
be run in passive mode with the MVP circuit engaged or it may be
run active with the active EQ engaged. The EMG active EQ runs on
2 9 volt alkaline batteries. Make sure to unplug when not using
the bass as to not drain the batteries.
1. Passive/Active - up=passive,
down=active
2. Voicing - center - bypass;
down is a mid-cut voicing and up is a mid-boost with high-end rolloff;
both switch positions change their influence based upon the coil
tap setting and pickup blend settings
3. Coil Tap - down both pickups
are dual coil series humbucking, up both pickups are single coil
using the neck side coil
