U.S. Masters Acoustic Bridge System with MIDI Controller Option
The above image is a Sportster mahogany body with a spalted maple top in a clear gloss finish with gold hardware. For magnetic pickups it is equipped with our Versatek pickup harness: two U.S. Masters V2 humbuckers with 5-way switching that provides a broad range of extremely usable sounds. This is controlled by the mag volume and mag tone controls and the 5-way lever switch. The Acoustic Bridge System is controlled by the acoustic volume control and the acoustic mid-boost switch. The MIDI Controller System is controlled by the MIDI volume and program up/program down switch. The controls function as follows:

1 - mag volume
master volume for the magnetic (electric) pickups
2 - mag tone
tone for the magnetic pickups
3 - mag output
provides magnetic pickup output before it goes to the acoustic preamp; plugging into this jack disconnects
the magnetic pickups from the acoustic output so that the magnetic and acoustic signals may be amplified separately
4 - acoustic volume
volume of the acoustic sound
5 - acoustic mid-boost
changes the tone contour of the acoustic sound boosting the upper mids
6 - acoustic/both/mag 3 position toggle switch
in the up position the electric signal is turned off and the acoustic is on; down position
electric is on and acoustic off; middle position both electric and acoustic sounds are on
7 - acoustic preamp output
operates in 3 different modes. When no jack is plugged into the mag output, both mag and acoustic signals appear at this output. If a mono (standard) guitar cables is used, both the acoustic and electric signals are blended together in a mono output. If a stereo cable is used the acoustic sound is on the tip and the electric sound on the ring of the stereo jack, so each may be amplified separately but only one (stereo) cable is plugged into the guitar. If a jack is plugged into the mag output, then the acoustic signal only appears at the acoustic preamp out and the acoustic and electric signals may then be amplified separately. Plugging into this jack runs the 9 volt battery. It is best to unplug from this jack when the guitar is not in use to increase battery life. The acoustic preamp uses a 9 voly alkaline battery. The electric guitar circuitry does not use the battery at all.
8 - MIDI volume
controls volume of MIDI program
9 - MIDI/both/mag 3 position toggle switch
in the up position the acoustic and electric signals are turned off and MIDI is on; down position acoustic and
electric signals are on and MIDI off; middle position both MIDI and electric and acoustic sounds are on
10 - program up/program down 2 position toggle switch
this is a momentary switch which rests in the middle position, when pressed up changes the MIDI
program down one number, when pressed up increments the MIDI program up one number
11 - DIN13 MIDI Controller Output
provides standard 13 pin controller output for MIDI converters such as from Roland and Axon;
this also carries the same signal as appears at the acoustic preamp output for its guitar signal
output. Plugging in a MIDI controller provides power to the acoustic preamp.
